Enthusiasts have long pined for the days of the IBM ThinkPads. From the utility of their full 7 row keyboard and 4:3 IPS display to the nostalgia of the logo and blue enter key:
Classic ThinkPads were as unmistakable to the public as they were irreplaceable to their fans. To that tune Lenovo made one point very clear this week: they listen to their fans.
First as a quick mention at the end of the Lenovo ‘Transform’ event, then in an almost climactic blogpost by Lenovo’s David Hill.
Lenovo confirmed what’s been long-rumored and much hoped for: Retro ThinkPad is coming.
“Yes, Lenovo will be making a special edition ThinkPad as part of the 25th anniversary celebration.” wrote Hill
Mr. Hill also added that he’d not only seen the early machine, but that he “..will proudly carry one.”
Little is known about the exact reveal date or starting price, but Mr. Hill promises fans:
“I can assure you it will not cost $5000!”
